Krystle Zimmermann is a west coast artist with a deep passion for nature and creating through inspiration. She discovered the art of pyrography in 2018, during one of the most difficult times in her life. It was the inspiration for this art that became a guiding light back to her heart. She quickly fell in love with designing beautiful and unique pieces, especially wood burning trees. In the spring of 2019, Silent forest designs was created.

Krystle’s artwork is a reflection of her love for the forest, and all which resides in it.

Behind the art..

Krystle’s inspiration comes from the diverse and magical forests, landscapes, and wildlife of British Columbia. She and her partner Zac spend most of their spare time exploring old growth forests, hidden lakes, and beautiful rivers on Vancouver island. They both share this same love of nature and creative expression. Zac is a partner in Silent forest designs. He takes on all the woodworking jobs, handles many of the business aspects, and brings his own creative energy into the work. Together, they create beautiful and functional art pieces.

The Wood Behind the Art…

Krystle and Zac source most of their wood from fallen, or unwanted trees, scrap material, and reclaimed wood. The wood comes from friends, family, or work connections. In December of 2019, a devastating storm hit Vancouver island. This storm took down many of the trees on their property. As devastating as it was, they have made sure to salvage every usable tree, and give it a second life.
