Old growth forests are integral to B.C for ensuring the protection of endangered species, climate stability, tourism, clean, water, wild salmon, and the cultures of many First Nations. North Island Wildlife Recovery Center

Founded in 1985, the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association (NIWRA) is a non-profit, world-class rehabilitation facility situated on 8 acres of immaculately manicured grounds, caring for animals with all types of needs, including birds with broken wings, orphaned black bears, electrocuted eagles and much more!

Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program

The Northern Spotted Owl is one of the most endangered species in Canada, with fewer than ten wild individuals remaining in British Columbia. The Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program, located in Langley BC, is breeding Northern Spotted Owls in captivity to be released into old growth forest habitat that has been protected by the Province of BC in hopes to restore the population across the species's range in British Columbia.
